What a neutral software comparison has to include

Updated 2026-10-28. Reviewer: not yet assigned.

Draft only. Source gaps and a missing reviewer block this page from being treated as approved guidance.

A comparison is a record of what was checked, against which public source, on which date. It is not a winner’s table. If a fact cannot be tied to an identifiable source, it stays out of the page.

Minimum contents

  • The decision or buyer job the page covers.
  • The date the official sources were read.
  • Links to those official sources, not a rewritten brochure.
  • A statement that the listing is unaffiliated, unless a contract exists and is described.
  • A list of what was not verified: price, detection rate, geography, uptime, or implementation time.

Why volume is the wrong goal

Search systems discourage scaled pages that exist to capture queries without adding something a reader can use. A short page with a checked source is fit to publish. A long page of recycled claims is not.

Review before publication

These guides are drafts. Publication on the live site requires a named reviewer, a source check, and a duplication check. Until that review exists, the draft banner stays on the page.
